Two weeks ago we returned from our trip to Mada....we hired a car + driver through Asisten.

Car was an old but adequate Toyota Landcruiser 4x4.

Route: Tana to Tolear and from Tolear to Morondava (the very bad coastal road)

We LOVED the trip - fantastic...glad we decided no to make us of Air Madagascar's domestic flights.

Our Driver/Guide was Jonathan Tremanana Rakotondrazaka

For us he was just the type of guide we needed. An EXCELLENT and SAFE Driver. English and guiding skills okay (not excellent but good enough for us). He was always available for us but also know when we needed time alone.

Jonathan Tremanana Rakotondrazaka (Driver/Guide) did a great tour for me: car, showed all seesights, managed all accomodation in line with my request.

The trip was full of interesting places, interesting information, a lot of fun and great time.

He is very flexible and always feel what is needed in this moment: time to be alone, or time for discussion.

I recomend you a lot to take Jonathan to be your driver and guide on Madagascar!

My husband and I have just come back to Europe after a trip to Madagascar and we can say we had an amazing experience with Jonathan and the driver he provided us, Tina. Our trip was self organised and I found Jonathan's contacts via the forums of Trip Advisor and Lonely Planet. So glad I did!

Jonathan has been really professional from the very first day I contacted him until the end of the tour: he is really knowledgeable about his country, road conditions and timings, he always replied promptly to all my questions, he was always clear about the fare which was also reasonable. Jonathan also helped us reserving some hotels for the trip and sorting out some issues with a reservation we made.

Most of all, he arranged for us the best driver ever! He is called Tina and I would like to recommend him if you can speak French. Tina made our trip perfect. He is a very special person, friendly but also discreet and professional, always keen to help with everything. He makes you feeling safe in every moment and situation. In addition, thanks to his extensive knowledge and experience, Tina has a lot of excellent addresses and tips for anyone who wants to have a less touristic and common trip and get closer to Malagasy culture and people.

It is hard to list all the things Tina did during our trip but I would like to mention the following: car always clean and well maintained (we did the adventurous trip which proved to be tough for us and the car, but Tina had everything in order to keep us comfortable and the car in excellent condition), always punctual and reliable, at Isalo NP he secured us the best guide, he was able to answer all our questions and gave us lots of insights into Madagascar. Besides being an excellent driver, Tina also has strong negotiation abilities and is able to solve problems without making you stressed.

Even if we travelled independently with Tina, sometimes we happened to meet Jonathan with his clients on the road (for some particular stretches of road they prefer to travel together) and therefore could see how a safe driver is Jonathan too and realise that he and his team always do their best in order to provide an exceptional client service and an amazing visitor experience. We ended up feeling Tina and Jonathan were like friends of ours, and enjoyed having a drink together in the evening after a long trip on a dusty road.

Finally, for the end of our trip, after we flew from Tulear to Tana, Jonathan proved again to be extremely helpful and organised, since he has arranged another good driver just for a few hours before our flight back to Europe.

Fantastic trip in Madagascar with Jonathan! Visited in August 2024! Took a trip on the RN7 hiking in Ranamanfana Np and Andringitra Np. Jonathan was a huge part in making this trip a huge success!

Wir waren im April 2024 eine Woche in Madagaskar mit unserem Fahrer Jonathan unterwegs und er hat uns mit viel Freude und grossem Engagement sein Land gezeigt. Wir sind beeindruckt von der Landschaft und den grandiosen Touren in den Nationalparks. Jonathan ist ein sehr sicherer Fahrer und hat uns problemlos über die wirklich schwierigen Strassen gefahren.
